Chenin Blanc is synonymous with the South African wine industry. Although the cultivar does not have the image of Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc a lot of old plantings do exist. Luckily for us we planted them on ideal terroir; cool climate with high altitude and in close proximity to the sea.
DESCRIPTION: This is a generous wine replete with fruit aromas, with guava being prominent. Smooth and well balanced with a long and rewarding aftertaste.
STYLE: Dry White Wine.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 100% Chenin Blanc
VINIFICATION: Handpicked at 22.5°B the grapes had plenty of natural acidity in the juice and were also showing strong varietal character. After slow cold fermentation, the wine was racked off the lees immediately to ensure freshness in the wine and on the palate.
ANALYSIS: ALC: 12.92%; TA: 6.0g/l; RS: 1.8; PH: 3.30
